Work & Experiences

In the past five years, I have spent time writing and creating content for various organisations and groups, including magazines, radio stations, news websites and blogs, creating print, online and broadcast content about the video games. Studying journalism and volunteering at various media outlets has given me insight extensively into journalism, creating content and writing news and feature stories to a high standard.

Pixels Rising -Broadcast & Online

In early 2016 I created 'Pixels Rising', a weekly video game and chiptune radio show at Radio Adelaide. I'm the host and lead producer for the show, and my responsibilities include writing scripts, researching and finding news, creating and organising content for weekly segments, managing social media accounts, organising and conducting interviews with developers, communicating and managing team member's content and posting articles online on the Radio Adelaide website.

ZAP! Radio - Broadcast & Online

In late 2015 I joined the ZAP! Radio team, a weekly video game radio show at Radio Adelaide and became a permanent member and co host of the show. My role included researching and finding news, conducting interviews with developers, publishing articles online, and presenting each week as co host. As the show tranistioned to become a weekly podcast in early 2016, I've continued to be part the show as a co host.

Only Single Player - Online

From April to July in 2015, I volunteered as news and opinion piece writer, at the video game news website, Only Single Player.com. These roles required researching and finding leads and creating news stories every day and curating opinion pieces when time allowed. Being part of OnlySP meant working in an international team, coordinating projects and working to deadlines which all gave me an incredible amount of experience.

During my Writing for News Media course, I learnt how to write news for print, online and broadcast media to a high standard. It taught me the basics of writing news, features and what content is effective in different environments

Reporting Principles & Practice

Radio & Online Broadcast Production

Reporting Principles and Practice taught me the basics and principles of journalism. The professionalism expected and the standards kept by journalists in reporting and covering stories. Interviewing, investigating and research were core principles taught.

Through some of my subjects I have had placements at a local community radio station called Radio Adelaide. Through the subject Radio and Online Broadcast Production I have learnt the basics of operating in a radio station and creating a radio show to a deadline.
